Giving back to the community is important to Nick Wagner, who's been an Aflac independent sales agent for 18 years. Working at Aflac gives Nick the flexibility he needs to ensure that he's giving back how and when he wants. Those efforts were part of the lead up to today’s companywide celebration of Comcast Cares Day, one of the largest corporate commitments to volunteerism and service in America. From coast to coast and in 22 countries abroad, our employees – including our new colleagues at Sky, friends, family members, nonprofit partners, and local leaders, worked together to improve their communities and bring one of our company’s greatest traditions to life.

Last week, PepsiCo employees hosted a workshop for women living in Win’s (formerly Women in Need) South Bronx shelter to help them with resume writing, interviewing and other job search skills. The workshop was held in a new job resource center at the site, which was funded by the PepsiCo Foundation. The Foundation’s grant enabled Win to purchase new computers, hire job specialists and create a dedicated space for residents to focus on finding employment.
On Saturday, May 4th, more than 100,000 Comcast, NBCUniversal – and for the first time Sky – employees will come together with their friends, family members, and nonprofit partners to “make change happen” as part of the 18th annual Comcast Cares Day.
Las Vegas Sands’ global corporate giving program, Sands Cares, donated $100,000 to HELP of Southern Nevada’s Shannon West Homeless Youth Center to provide 1,807 nights of shelter for at-risk youth, and the opportunity to name five rooms on the first floor of the center after Sands Cares.
