Huggies Brand Partners with Nurses to Establish Inaugural Huggies Nursing Advisory Council

Huggies is announcing the launch of its Nursing Advisory Council to offer ongoing guidance to nurses and information on helping protect newborns' fragile skin. Together with the Huggies brand, the council will identify opportunities to provide resources that recognize nurses' contributions and help them perform their best – for babies, families and communities.

Expanding Access to Affordable Treatments Against Chronic Diseases

On May 25, Novartis Access held its second stakeholder dialogue in conjunction with the 2016 World Health Assembly to share first learnings from the Kenya launch, and to continue the discussion on how to address the burden of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) in lower-income countries. This event is part of the company’s public commitment to transparency and open dialogue with stakeholders as Novartis Access is rolled out.

Novartis Launches ‘Novartis Access’, a Portfolio of Affordable Medicines to Treat Chronic Diseases in Lower-income Countries

Novartis today announced the launch of Novartis Access, a portfolio of 15 medicines to treat chronic diseases in low- and low-middle-income countries. The portfolio addresses cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, respiratory illnesses, and breast cancer and will be offered to governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other public-sector healthcare providers for USD 1 per treatment, per month.

That point was made during a panel discussion “Is Food the Cure?” by Vickie Kloeris, Manager, International Space Station Food System, NASA Johnson Space Center. Novartis Foundation Presents Healthcare Models and Disease Elimination Programs at ECTMIH

The Novartis Foundation and its partners will highlight progress towards transforming the health of the poorest populations at the 9th European Congress on Tropical Medicine and International Health (ECTMIH) held in Basel from September 6 – 10. Updates on nine Novartis Foundation-sponsored healthcare delivery models and disease elimination programs in low- and middle-income countries will be showcased in scientific sessions and sponsored-symposia.

Novartis Continues Commitment to go the Last Mile in Effort to Eliminate Leprosy

Novartis has renewed its pledge with the World Health Organization (WHO) to work to end leprosy by extending its donation of multidrug therapy (MDT) medicines to treat leprosy through the year 2020. This five-year agreement includes treatments worth more than USD 40 million and up to USD 2.5 million to support the WHO in handling the donation and logistics. Overall it is expected that the program will reach an estimated 1.3 million patients during the next five years. This is part of the company’s commitment in 2012 to the London Declaration on Neglected Tropical Diseases.
