At AMD, our commitment to science, technology, engineering and mathematics education reflects a deep belief that investing in young minds today helps build the workforce of tomorrow.
When our Connect a Million Minds STEM education initiative launched in 2009, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) learning was very focused on activities like robotics and bridge building. However, over the years at Time Warner Cable, we have found ways to make STEM exciting to all students by showing them how STEM is used in all of their favorite activities like sports, dance and cooking.

In spite of many great outcomes, there is one code we have not cracked: the one keeping women out of computer science.
It’s no secret our students continue to fall behind in science, technology, engineering and math – the STEM fields. The business and academic communities have responded by commissioning studies, launching programs, giving grants, finding ambassadors and building mentorships.
