The adoption of this rule requires railroads to develop and maintain contingency plans approved by the Department of Ecology (Ecology). Ecology adopted Chapter 173-186 WAC, Oil Spill Contingency Plan – Railroad on August 31, 2016. The rule went into effect on October 1, 2016. Within 90 days from that date, plans must be submitted.
UPS (NYSE:UPS) today announced it plans to add 200 new hybrid electric delivery trucks to the company’s growing alternative fuel and advanced technology fleet. The vehicles have the same 2-cylinder engine and E-GENTM chassis as the 125 vehicles UPS announced earlier this year.
