Aflac, the leader in voluntary insurance sales at the worksite in the United States, was honored by PR News Magazine as the 2017 Company of the Year at the PR News CSR Awards held in Washington, D.C., on March 22. The company received the award in the “Corporation, less than 25,000 employees” category.
Southern California Cities Plug Into Charge Ready EV Program
Southern California Edison has launched its Charge Ready program to expand access to electric vehicle charging in its service territory, beginning with construction of the first charging stations in the cities of Lynwood and Ontario.
Cox and The Trust For Public Land Launch Arizona’s 2017 Cox Conserves Heroes Awards Program
Local judging panels, comprised of civic and environmental leaders, will select three finalists who then compete to be named Arizona’s 2017 Cox Conserves Hero. The winner, chosen through an online public vote, will receive $10,000 to donate to his or her selected nonprofit beneficiary. The two finalists each will receive $5,000 for their nonprofits of choice.
Addressing Barriers for Women Leaders: Mentoring
Last year the US hit a milestone with a record 27 female CEOs at the helm of S&P 500 companies. And while there has been progress since 1972, it has not been enough, especially when women are projected to account for 51 percent of the increase in total labor force growth between 2008 and 2018.
