Hormel Foods Corporation today announced the recipients of this year’s $10,000 Hormel Heroes Scholarships. The Hormel Heroes Scholarship Program was created by Hormel Foods to support students with military backgrounds pursuing degrees in culinary arts or a foodservice management related program and is administered by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF).

Recently, the Council on Foundations and the Foundation Center released its five-year study, The State of Global Giving by U.S. Foundations: 2011-2015, which showed that grant-making by U.S. foundations to charitable organizations outside the United States reached an all-time high in 2015 with $9.3 billion in grants compared with $2.1 billion in 2002 (an increase of over 300%). International giving represented over 27% of all grants made by U.S. foundations, and the average grant size during this period tripled from just over $200,000 to over $604,000.
JetBlue today announced a collaboration with Princess Awesome, a clothing company whose mission is to give girls options that reflect their full range of interests. Princess Awesome teamed up with JetBlue for the special aviation-themed “Airplanes Collection,” featuring blue jets as the focal point of the line. This capsule collection highlights both JetBlue’s and Princess Awesome’s commitment to providing access for girls to pursue interests in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
