My money story began in a middle-class neighborhood in the suburbs of Seattle. My father was a teacher and worked evenings selling financial products to bring in additional income. My mom stayed home and raised three children. My parents modeled frugality in their money choices: reusing and getting the maximum life out of everything from clothes to tools.
Peter Henry, Dean Emeritus of NYU’S Stern School of Business once said, “You can actually make a lot of money and do a lot of good in the world.” That’s the motivation behind the business model of Mountain Hazelnuts. To make things even more interesting, we want to create a transformative model in a remarkable part of the world – the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan.
