(3BL Media) May 3, 2012 - With its ‘2011 Sustainability Progress Report – Performance Counts’, the adidas Group publicly reports for the 12th consecutive time about its efforts to be a sustainable business.

The word ‘progress’ is key to understanding the approach taken this year: by focusing on the performance along the way to its 2015 targets, the report is an assessment of the progress the Group has made towards becoming a more sustainable company. So the report takes a close look at the milestones set for 2011 and what the Group has done to achieve them.

Some highlights of the ‘2011 Sustainability Progress Report’ are:
• Sustainable products for the London 2012 Olympic Games: over 90% of adidas Games products and 100% of Volunteer uniforms contain sustainable components.
• Improved performance of direct suppliers in complying with the adidas Group’s ‘Workplace Standards’.
• Development of an industry-wide system to measure the overall sustainability credentials of apparel products; nearly 20 products from adidas, Reebok and Rockport were tested in a pilot exercise.
• Certification of adidas Group major sites according to ISO 14001.
