GREENVILLE, S.C., Dec. 16, 2013 /3BL Media/ -- On Nov. 2, local CITGO Marketer Piedmont Petroleum celebrated more than 30 years of serving and giving back to the Greenville community with a Customer Appreciation Day at its CITGO Corner Mart located at 515 Pendleton Street. During the event, which capped Piedmont Petroleum's "Locally Owned, Locally Operated" campaign, customers received great offers, including 10 cents off every gallon of fuel. More than 1,000 gallons of fuel were sold during the event.

"We wanted to recognize our friends and neighbors who have been such great customers over the years," said Kenneth Cosgrove, vice president for Piedmont Petroleum. "We know our business depends on our loyal patrons, and we wanted to find a way to show them our appreciation and thank them for continuing to support our locally owned stations in Greenville."

Throughout the day, more than 200 customers received a special, discounted price on fuel at the CITGO Corner Mart. In addition, the South Carolina Education Lottery was onsite with prizes and free giveaways and Piedmont Petroleum offered free hot dogs and fountain drinks.

The Customer Appreciation Day was the final of three events that made up Piedmont Petroleum's "Locally Owned, Locally Operated" campaign to give back to the community and recognize its three decades of fueling good in Greenville.

  • On Sept. 7, Piedmont Petroleum hosted a Back-to-School Day for Armstrong Elementary School, donating backpacks and school supplies to students beginning the school year.
  • On Sept. 21, Piedmont Petroleum held an event for Harvest Hope Food Bank to kick-off an annual program to raise money and encourage food donations for the Emergency Food Bank. The fundraising campaign will continue in the month of November and customers can donate at any CITGO Corner Mart location.

"At Piedmont Petroleum, we have a long-term commitment to being good neighbors in the Greenville community," continued Cosgrove. "We love Greenville and look forward to growing right along with our wonderful city in the years to come."
