Campaign: How2Recycle Label

December 5, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Global leader in the manufacturing and distribution of custom-branded and stock protective packaging, PAC Worldwide joins the Sustainable Packaging Coalition’s growing How2Recycle Label program, which now includes 21 participating companies.

How2Recycle is an on-package recycling label program that gives clear, concise instructions to consumers about how to recycle a package. “Many consumers are confused about what they can and can’t recycle, especially when it comes to plastic films,” said GreenBlue Senior Project Manager Anne Bedarf. “The How2Recycle Label helps fix this problem by clearly communicating how and where certain materials should be recycled.”

Consumers will begin to see the How2Recycle Store Drop-off Label on a variety of PAC Worldwide’s shipping pouches. PAC Worldwide customers using branded mailers are also able to use the Store Drop-off label. A variety of bags and other films are recyclable at over 15,000 participating store drop-off locations, a fact that is sometimes unclear to consumers. The Store Drop-off Label, like the one that will be on some of PAC Worldwide’s mailers, encourages the retail collection of these films. Consumers can visit How2Recycle and www.plasticfilmrecycling.org to find recycling locations.

PAC Worldwide’s adoption of the How2Recycle Label shows their commitment to providing recyclable packaging options for brands. “We are excited to be involved in this program as our customers have been looking for clarity in regards to recycling for quite some time,” said John Bartell, VP of Marketing for Pac Worldwide. “We will encourage all of our customers that are using Airjackets and Polyjackets to embrace printing the How2Recycle Store Drop-off Label on all of the mailers we manufacture for them.”

Fee sponsorships are available to companies using How2Recycle for plastic bags, wraps, and films and are made possible through the support of the Flexible Film Recycling Group (FFRG) of the American Chemistry Council.
