Johnson & Johnson Announces Significant Progress Towards Its Climate Goals - 100% Renewable Electricity for All Sites in the United States, Canada and Europe by 2023
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J., November 30, 2021 /3BL Media/ - Johnson & Johnson announced that the Company has executed a power purchase agreement (PPA) in the United States (U.S.), showing continued acceleration towards its ambitious goal to procure 100% renewable electricity for all Johnson & Johnson operations by 2025. With this new deal, Johnson & Johnson expects that it will source the equivalent of 100% of the Company’s electricity in the U.S. and Canada from wind and solar power by 2023.
The new agreement will be comprised of a solar array in Southern Texas for a total generation capacity of 55 megawatts (MW) or approximately 117,000 megawatt hours (MWh) of renewable electricity annually. The agreement was signed in coordination with Ørsted, and the solar installation is currently being built.
