Global Entrepreneurship Week 2015 UK launch

November 2015, saw Barclays play host to the successful launch of the world’s largest campaign to promote entrepreneurship. Global Entrepreneurship Week 2015 had its UK launch at Rise in Manchester, part of Barclays’ physical sites for innovative companies.

The event was opened by Small Business Minister Anna Soubry MP, and saw more speakers than ever pass on tips around mentoring, innovation and business planning at this prestigious launch. It was also supported by tech entrepreneur and former Dragon, Piers Linney, along with a host of start-up entrepreneurs, who shared their stories of how they made it happen as an entrepreneur.

Manchester based entrepreneurs Rachael Turner, co-founder of innovation organisation Manchester Digital Laboratory and Richard Milnes, co-founder of business intelligence firm Juliand, were among the presenters. Michael Hartig, Managing Director for Barclays in the North West, provided key insight on the support Barclays is offering for entrepreneurs in the region.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is run by Startup Direct, UnLtd, Virgin StartUp and Youth Business International, in partnership with Barclays.
