Campaign: Valor Social

(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) June 21, 2011 - Amongst the main accomplishments of the race, we can point out the following:

  • The importance of physical activity to improve health was emphasized.

  • Friendly interaction amongst the participants -about 600 runners-, prevailed, strengthening their interaction and the culture of Corporate Social Responsibility at Banorte.

  • Because of the race, 60 trees were planted in the park where the race took place. This was an initiative by the associates themselves.

During the race, Karina González, Banortel Director, explained to the participants the reason why their T-shirts had the four pillars of Banorte’s Social Responsibility, by explaining the following:    Environmental Protection: Because planting trees means to become more aware, to realize that Environmental Protection is part of each and every one of us; and that we all make a difference. Community Support: Because trees generate the Oxygen that we breathe and help mitigate climate change. They also provide a landscape for those who visit the park, and for the city. Ethics and Quality of Life in the Company: Because with the race we achieve healthy recreation; foster sports; maintain the relevance with our Vive Saludable (Live Healthy) campaign; and spend time with our work colleagues and their families, so that they get to know our surroundings, the company we work in, and the same as we, they can feel proud of Banorte. Value Chain: Because with these events we can identify the environmental and social values, so that we incorporate them into our daily activities; both, in the company, and outside of it; influencing others, therefore, extending the chain more.   Banortel plans to continue with this type of actions, while inspiring other associates to support physical activities and, what is most important, the Socially Responsible vision; that is why we are already planning the next race with a cause, with another department of Banorte.     Rosa María Arrambide Contact Center Managing Director   GFB14738
