El Abra, A Freeport-McMoRan company, Receives Sustainable Management Award for Work with Indigenous Chilean Communities

November 26, 2013 /3BL Media/ - El Abra recently received the Sustainable Management Award from the Association of Industrialists of Antofagasta for its efforts to protect the heritage, culture and way of life of Alto Loa indigenous communities near its operations.

The Association specifically recognized El Abra for its work with the Atacamenian, Quechuan and Aymara ethnic groups in Calama and Ollagüe, Chile. El Abra supports programs and projects that aim to preserve local heritage and ancestral traditions while at the same contribute to sustainable development in the region.
