June 19, 2019 /3BL Media/ Those who succeed to the ranks of leadership within the environmental, health, safety and sustainability (EHS&S) profession bring more than just technical expertise to the role, according to a new report published this week by the National Association for EHS&S Management (NAEM).

“In addition to deep knowledge of regulatory systems and business operations, EHS&S leaders rely on their ‘executive presence’ to effectively influence change across their organizations,” said NAEM Executive Director Carol Singer Neuvelt.

As part of its mission to empower EHS&S leaders to make a greater impact, NAEM’s research program includes a strong focus on professional skills development. The “Strategies to Increase Your Executive Presence” report was designed to help aspiring leaders unlock their potential by giving them actionable strategies they can use to change their mindset and personal habits. The report features expert insights, leadership profiles and self-guided assessment tools.

It also includes advice from recognized peer leaders at: Danone North America, CF Industries, Enviance, Delta Global Services, Pacific Gas and Electric Co. and Walker Industries.

“In a time when companies are actively transforming their operations to realize the opportunities of sustainability, it’s never been more important for EHS&S leaders to be equipped to lead that change,” Ms. Neuvelt said. “We hope this report offers fresh ideas EHS&S managers can use to fuel their career journey.”

The report is available for free download from NAEM’s website, thanks to financial support from Enviance.
