DETROIT, June 17, 2014 /3BL Media/ – Local CITGO Marketer Bazzi Oil & Gas Company, CITGO Fueling Good Road Trip Ambassadors Adam and Diego, Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano and Miss Michigan Haley Williams teamed up with the Eight Mile Boulevard Association (8MBA) for the 18th annual “Clean the D” event on May 3 to revitalize the Eight Mile corridor.

“We are proud to take part in the annual ‘Clean the D’ event,” said Fadel Bazzi, owner of Bazzi Oil & Gas Company. “It has become a tradition within Bazzi Oil and an event that we look forward to each spring. We are grateful to the Eight Mile Boulevard Association and CITGO for inviting us to be a part of this event. This is an area that is integral to our business and we are proud to help restore the Eight Mile corridor.”

This year, more than 150 volunteers participated in painting projects, flower planting and trash pick-up throughout the corridor’s 27-mile stretch.

"We are always proud to see the generosity of the community during the annual ‘Clean the D’ events,” said Jordan Twardy, executive director of the 8MBA. "It is inspiring to see so many volunteers come together from so many different organizations to support this cause. We feel honored that the Miss Michigan Organization, CITGO and Adam and Diego, Bazzi Oil, Wayne County Executive Ficano, Redford Township Supervisor Tracey Schultz Kobylarz, the Binder Street Block Club and so many others dedicated their time to help improve the Eight Mile corridor. We owe the success of these events each year to the support of these wonderful volunteers.”
