In March 2015, Cyclone Pam devastated Vanuatu with winds up to 270kmh. About 165,000 people were affected and up to 90 percent of homes were damaged. Carnival Australia quickly responded to the call for aid and sent ships to help the community of Vanuatu who suffered from the powerful storm.

Four of five ships - Pacific Dawn, Pacific Pearl, Carnival Legend and Carnival Spirit - headed for Vanuatu with humanitarian aid onboard. On April 8 - a month after Cyclone Pam - Pacific Dawn arrived in Port Villa to provide further assistance.

Carnival Australia committed $300,000 to Save the Children's appeal, including $150,000 from Carnival Corporation Chairman, Micky Airson's Family Foundation.

As Vanuatu continues to face the long task of rebuilding, Carnival Australia is committed to aid as much as it can.
