Caesars Entertainment Launches “Enlisting Heroes” Military Veteran Hiring Strategy with Career Networking Event

Feb 22, 2013 3:30 PM ET

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 22, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Caesars Entertainment launched a corporate-wide hiring initiative, called “Enlisting Heroes,” aimed at providing job opportunities for U.S. Military veterans.

Caesars Entertainment Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Gary Loveman and Retired Major General James A. “Spider” Marks addressed a group of potential job applicants at a special networking event held inside the Penn & Teller Theater at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. The event served as an introduction for Caesars’ new hiring strategy as well as provided an overview of career opportunities for perspective applicants.

“Like the U.S. Military, Caesars Entertainment is also a large, complex and diversified organization,” said Loveman. “And, like the military, we also have our Code of Commitment that governs the way we operate and the way we interact with our employees, guests, communities and the environment. We are launching our ‘Enlisting Heroes’ initiative not simply because it’s the right thing to do, but because it’s the smart thing to do.”

At its foundation, the “Enlisting Heroes” initiative seeks to harness the skills and aptitudes veterans acquire throughout their military career and apply them to the business world. Citing honor, courage, loyalty, leadership, accountability, drive and dedication as the skills Caesars seeks in its employees; company hiring officials note the desirability among the veteran population to embody these characteristics. Additionally, the sense of duty and the abilities to analyze, decide, communicate and motivate make veterans ideal candidates to contribute to the company’s overall success.

While the “Enlisting Heroes” hiring strategy is a corporate-wide initiative, the program launch in Nevada is particularly relevant given the State’s heavy population of reserve and military veterans and as the company’s headquarters. Currently, Caesars has more than 10,000 job opportunities available across the country and more than 500 in the State of Nevada.

As Caesars seeks to bolster its workforce through the employment of veterans, those hired may take advantage of excellent pay and benefits, opportunities for advancement and exciting careers. Following the Feb. 20th networking event, veterans interested in continuing to pursue employment opportunities with Caesars will return for a second hiring event on March 21, 2013 at which time panel interviews will be conducted.

In addition to remarks made by Loveman and Marks at the networking event, special appearances were made by Caesars entertainers including Penn & Teller, Taylor Hicks, Jeff Civillico and cast members of Bally’s Jubilee!, “Million Dollar Quartet,” “MJ Live” and “The Rat Pack is Back.” In further recognition of their contribution and service to our country, on Monday, Feb. 25 Caesars Las Vegas resorts will offer veterans a complimentary buffet and entertainment offers.
