5th Annual Velo4Yellow

In July Gyros Cycling Club hosted their 5th annual Velo4Yellow ride benefiting LIVESTRONG. This year’s charity ride had 415 riders and raised $10,000 to support LIVESTRONG cancer programs – bringing Velo4Yellow’s 5 year total to $30,000! Amazing. Dress for Success Southern Nevada, the local nonprofit that provides gently used professional clothing and career counseling services to empower women to achieve economic independence, celebrates its partnership with MGM Resorts International, which has been named a boutique annual sponsor for 2016. The Nevada-based global entertainment and hospitality company donated $10,000 to Dress for Success Southern Nevada to help maintain and expand the nonprofit’s boutique to serve more women in Southern Nevada.

After three summers of Qcamp for Girls in STEM, I am excited to report that the seedswe planted two years ago and continued to nurture in order to positively impact the way girls learn science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education and careers have budded into female engineers of the future!

Father/Daughter Kohler Associates Bring Clean Water and Prosperity to Haiti

Haiti is the poorest country in the Western hemisphere. Over 80 percent of Haitian citizens live under the poverty line. Only 16 percent of rural Haiti has adequate sanitation and less than one-third have safe drinking water.

Father-daughter missionaries and Kohler employees Art Stewart and Lisa Burrell travel to Haiti with the family’s mission organization S’MORES International. Though the family has been volunteering in Haiti since 2004, they say never get used to the conditions.
