In 2015, AT&T sponsored 7 young men of color for All Star Code’s 2015 Summer Intensive program. Salmon farming in British Columbia is worth more than one billion dollars to the provincial economy and results in over 5,000 well paying, year-round jobs. The majority of this economic impact is seen in rural coastal British Columbia, particularly in First Nations communities.

Samsung Electronics America is redesigning the summer internship. Bypassing work plans and coffee runs, the Mini-Internship is a shortcut to one of the key benefits of a traditional program – access to industry leaders. Instead of one intern filling one position, the program is an open forum for many students. Hosted at Samsung 837, the series will connect high school and college students with some of the best and brightest from a variety of fields.

LGBTQ youth face higher rates of bullying, discrimination, and homelessness than their non LGBTQ peers. The recent attempts to withhold rights from transgender students in multiple states is indicative of the struggles that LGBTQ youth face today. Without major changes to the current trends of anti-LGBTQ sentiments, youth will continue to suffer at home and in schools. Rates of LGBTQ youth homelessness will remain at high levels, the disproportionate suicide rate will not change, and youth will continue to feel unsafe at schools due to discrimination.

On a daily basis, businesses serve as powerful forces for good around the world. From job creation to corporate citizenship initiatives, the private sector's impact on society is enormous. Building corporate purpose has the potential to unlock even greater societal impact.
