At Sodexo, we have been recognized and awarded for our efforts to end childhood hunger through the Stop Hunger Foundation. It is customary to see decorated cardboard boxes around the office collecting donations or volunteer teams organizing food drives. Three years ago, my team and I embarked on a drive of our own—working with our culinary group in building a highly integrated technology platform for our foodservice operations that truly transforms the way we go to market and execute activities at our food operations – both from a business process and technology perspective. These changes demonstrate Sodexo’s commitment to Quality of Life values both for our unit staff and for our consumers.

In a side-by-side study, Caterpillar compared two distinct road-building processes – 1) traditional road building, most commonly used today, and 2) a technology-focused approach, using our Cat Connect technology. Cat Connect technology automates and facilitates construction through on-machine hardware and software along with off-machine solutions dramatically reduces the costs and impacts of road building.

The port of Hamburg celebrated a premiere relating to LNG supply in May. On Saturday, May 14, AIDAprima and AIDAsol became the first two AIDA ships to be simultaneously supplied with and/or powered with energy produced from LNG (liquefied natural gas) while berthed in the port of Hamburg. AIDAprima´s Dual Fuel Motors are supplied directly from an LNG truck at the cruise terminal in Steinwerder.

Our pets bring us comfort, companionship and a sense of safety. Many recent studies suggest that the bond between an owner and their pet is deeply emotional. Animals even display physical emotional responses depending on their proximity to a recognized human with whom they have an established relationship. Pets are very much a part of the family.

For the 10th consecutive year, empowered women (and a few good men!) gathered for the MGM Resorts Foundation Women's Leadership Conference. They came from around the city and around the country.

I had the privilege of being one of five judges for the HPE Living Progress Challenge, a program that issued a challenge – “Millions of people who can’t access the power of technology are being left behind, excluded from a world of opportunity. What software applications and digital services would you create to improve people’s lives?” This program made me proud to be an HPE employee and I expected to be impressed. I didn’t expect to cry.
