This became evident during our SHINE Awards for Small Business, where we received over 2,400 submissions from sellers across the U.S. Our team was extremely inspired reading through the submissions – whether it was a single mom turning to eBay to create a business that would support her family, an immigrant from Colombia pursuing her American Dream or a brick and mortar store in rural Vermont going online to expand their business globally – these people are eBay’s heart and soul and a true representation of what we’re all about. We’re thrilled to announce our 2017 SHINE Awards for Small Business winners.

Fox Inclusion recently announced writer Keely MacDonald has received a script development deal from Fox Broadcasting Company after being named this year’s Fox Writers Lab Fellow. MacDonald was chosen from a group of 13 experienced finalists at the Fox Writers Lab, a 14-week program hosted by Fox Inclusion that gives its finalists direct access to Fox writers, directors, and executives to further their screenwriting skills on the Fox Lot in Los Angeles.

Today, consumers increasingly expect companies to address social justice issues, with nearly nine-in-ten (87%) citing racial equality as an issue they would like companies to prioritize. Some companies have tried to shed light on the topic, but with little understanding of the community, their efforts backfired. However, one company with a longstanding history of support for racial equality recently dared to share a bold message.

In collaboration with MLBPA licensee, 108 Stitches, Napoli slapped the phrase "Party at Napoli's" on a t-shirt and began a campaign to help raise funds for Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital. At the end of last season, over 9,000 t-shirts had been sold, and Napoli and 108 Stitches presented the clinic with a check for $121,000.

Jacquie Ryan wasn’t sure what she wanted to do after she graduated university with a degree in English and Film Studies, so she headed to Banff to coach skiing. The short-term job set her on a path to a long-term career, and she’s continued to let her passions guide her profession ever since.
