Timberland Announces Robust Environmental Targets Across All Product Categories

As a global outdoor lifestyle brand, Timberland has always been driven by a commitment to innovate and operate in an accountable and responsible manner – in terms of its products, the outdoors and the communities around the globe where it operates. As part of this commitment, the company today announced the establishment of rigorous environmental standards – Timberland Environmental Product Standards (TEPS) – across all Timberland product categories. The company also unveiled its 2015 CSR results, as well as new five-year performance targets against its core CSR pillars – product, outdoors and community.

Timberland and premium chocolatier Lindt USA may seem like an unlikely pair, but the Stratham, New Hampshire neighbors have joined forces to provide their employees access to a Community Supporter Agriculture (CSA) program that will deliver all-natural pasture-raised, antibiotic- and hormone-free meat to their headquarters.

Earth Week Guest Post: Corporate Renewables Growth: The Sky is the Limit

Fossil fuels make up two-thirds of the approximately 1,100 gigawatts of capacity in the U.S. bulk power fleet. However last year the United States retired 14 gigawatts of fossil-fueled generation and brought 16.4 gigawatts of carbon-free generation online, with wind energy leading the mix at 8.5 gigawatts of newly installed capacity, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance. Even with low natural gas prices, new natural gas projects brought 6 gigawatts online. This is an exciting sign of a changing tide.
