June 8, 2018 is World Oceans Day, a day to celebrate what the oceans mean to our planet and our health, and how we can continue to be good stewards from sea to shining sea. At Aramark, we support our oceans on two main fronts—by watching what goes into the water and what comes out of it.

Happy World Water Day! Held annually on March 22, World Water Day is an international day centered around the importance of our freshwater resources, and brings awareness to how we manage those resources sustainably. Goldcorp’s Towards Zero Water Strategy (H2Zero) is our commitment to optimizing and reducing freshwater consumption at all our mine sites. A product of the 2016 Sustainability Summit, H2Zero is a multi-year water reduction strategy.

Celebrating World Water Day: How Companies Are Addressing Water Challenges in the 21st Century

March 22 is World Water Day, a United Nations-led initiative bringing attention to the importance of universal access to water, sanitation and hygiene. An annual occurrence, the theme for World Water Day in 2018 is “Nature for Water,” which explores nature-based solutions to the water challenges we face in the 21st century. Efforts such as planting trees to replenish forests, restoring wetlands and reconnecting rivers to floodplains are sustainable, cost-effective ways to mitigate the effects of climate change – thereby improving human health.

The 2018 World Water Day, with its theme “Nature for Water,” seeks its inspiration from Nature and explores what we can learn from it. FCA has worked to conserve this natural resource for many years, progressively reducing the water footprint of our plants, supporting projects for the recovery and protection of biodiversity, and involving our employees so that this commitment also translates into individual, concrete and daily actions.

Canadian Pacific Chooses Thermo King’s New SLXi-DRC Refrigeration Unit

Canadian Pacific Railway Limited (CP) has selected Thermo King's, a manufacturer of transport temperature control solutions for a variety of mobile applications and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, SLXi-DRC units to fulfill its largest, single domestic reefer container (DRC) order in Canadian history. CP is the first Thermo King customer to purchase the SLXi-DRC unit in North America.

Cynthia Figge, co-founder and CEO of CSRHub, joined Nareit for a video interview at Nareit’s 2018 ESG Forum in Seattle.

Figge described CSRHub, which she co-founded in 2007, as the “largest aggregation of ESG metrics worldwide.” CSRHub rates 17,000 companies on ESG measures and aggregates data from more than 500 sources, she noted.
