TransCanada to Acquire Columbia Pipeline Group for US$13 Billion

TransCanada Corporation (TSX:TRP) (NYSE:TRP) (TransCanada) today announced it has entered into an agreement and plan of merger pursuant to which it will acquire Columbia Pipeline Group, Inc. (NYSE:CPGX or Columbia), a Houston, Texas-based company that operates an approximate 24,000-kilometre (km) (15,000-mile) network of interstate natural gas pipelines extending from New York to the Gulf of Mexico, with a significant presence in the Appalachia production basin.

Students and teachers from 15 public schools across the nation convened at the brand new Samsung 837 building in New York City yesterday to present their STEM-driven projects in front of a live panel of judges. Five schools will be selected as National Winners in the Solve for Tomorrow contest, which challenges young minds to tap into their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education to solve a problem affecting their local community. From designing prosthetic enhancements for wounded veterans to filtering contaminated drinking water, the 15 National Finalist schools are tackling real-world problems in their backyards.
