RSF Social Finance is pleased to announce the 2015-2016 Social Impact Fellows. This cohort marks RSF’s sixth year of the fellowship program. The fellowship is designed to support the development of the next generation of inspiring leaders in the social finance field. RSF also seeks to bring a fresh perspective to the organization’s business development activities.

Jim Gianopulos, 20th Century Fox Chairman and CEO, along with Academy Award-nominated director David O. Russell, hosted a special screening at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles on October 26 for Demon's Gate, the thesis film from the first class of student fellows at Ghetto Film School LA. The MacArthur Park-based nonprofit teaches filmmaking to young people from traditionally underserved neighborhoods and was co-founded by 21st Century Fox in 2014, bringing the acclaimed Ghetto Film School curriculum to Los Angeles for the first time.

The Huntsville, AL local high school, James Clemens High, was looking for a clever way to raise money so that every classroom could get recycling bins. Republic Services works with the schools to help educate and implement recycling programs and Republic’s local Huntsville division was excited to help with fundraising ideas.

The National Association for Environmental Management will be releasing a research report in November that examines the core competencies, attributes, and responsibilities of EHS professionals at different stages of their career.

CSX employees gathered at Grandview Elementary School in Charleston, W.V. on Saturday to spend the morning volunteering to improve the school. They were joined by CSX’s national service partners City Year, Action for Healthy Kids and Arbor Day Foundation, along with volunteers from the community and school.

Following a successful first season and an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Informational Series, Neil deGrasse Tyson's science-focused talk show StarTalk returned for its second season on 21st Century Fox's National Geographic Channel on Sunday, October 25. The series, based on Tyson's popular radio show and podcast of the same name, features comedians, academics, and celebrity guests such as President Bill Clinton, Susan Sarandon, and Seth MacFarlane in conversation with Tyson about how science affects their lives and careers. StarTalk airs at 11/10c on Sundays on National Geographic Channel.
