Millennials are often portrayed in the media as lazy, narcissistic and entitled, but these harsh generalisations could not be further from the truth. According to the Rise of the Millennials survey conducted in October 2015 by Standard Life Investments, which seeks to find what motivates millennials, it was found that 61% of the millennials interviewed were worried about the state of the world and felt that they were personally responsible for making a difference.

Sodexo, world leader of Quality of Life services, and the University of Maine are bridging the gap between local business owners and food distributors through an information expo on serving locally sourced seafood and produce on college campuses. On November 1 and 3, Sodexo and the University of Maine hosted Scaling Up, a networking and professional development event aimed at helping local farmers, businesses, and fishermen secure a larger market reach for their products.

CBRE Appoints New Chairpersons of Asia Pacific American Forum

CBRE Group, Inc. announced that Lilian Cavaleri, business manager for the company’s Microsoft account; and Eric Chen, first vice president, Investment Properties, Capital Markets, have taken leadership roles in CBRE’s Asia Pacific American Forum (APAF). Mrs. Cavaleri and Mr. Chen will serve as the Co-Chairpersons of the company’s newest employee network group.

(NYSE:CBG) announced that it received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality that is administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. With its high score, CBRE is recognized as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality. This marks CBRE’s fourth consecutive year of achieving a perfect score, and the company continues to pave the way for increased diversity across the entire commercial real estate industry.

DuPont People Spotlight: Celebrating Our Working Mothers

Growing up on a thousand-acre family farm in rural Michigan, Wendy Srnic loved “getting her hands dirty” gardening and raising livestock — in the case of her family — cattle. Today, she is the research director of Integrated Product Characterization & Development at DuPont Pioneer and is the leader of a team of 350 employees spanning four countries that is responsible for a key step in the DuPont Pioneer pipeline for getting new hybrids and varieties of corn, soybeans and other crops to market. She also was selected as the DuPont U.S. Working Mother of the Year for 2016 and was honored with other women from the Working Mother 100 Best Companies list at a dinner in October.

HP has been identified as a global leader for the actions and strategies it is taking to manage its use of timber products more sustainably by CDP, which named HP one of only eight companies to earn a position on the inaugural CDP “Forest A List” for its deforestation management efforts.
