Youth mentorship has been given a tremendous boost thanks to a transformational $3.1 million donation by Scotiabank to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.

Comerica Incorporated (NYSE:CMA) received national recognition for its work in the communities, earning The Civic 50 by Points of Light award. The honor recognizes Comerica as one of the most community-minded companies in the United States.

We have invested more than $5.9 billion in communities across the US since 2001, including more than $550 million since 2011 on initiatives to close the digital divide. Our employees are the backbone of our volunteerism. They are helping to make toys accessible for children with disabilities in partnership with Easterseals; performing technology assessments with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America; serving as mentors to young people through Big Brothers Big Sisters of America; coaching teams for FIRST Robotics; serving on the national and local boards of City Year, the National Urban League, UnidosUS, and the Arc; and more. Just this spring, more than 120,000 volunteers participated in our longstanding Comcast Cares Day tradition, improving communities through more than 1,450 local projects.

It’s award season for sustainability and corporate responsibility professionals across the globe! Symantec was recently listed on CR Magazine’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens list, named a “Win-Win Company” by JUST Capital, named to Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index for the eleventh consecutive year, and included in the 100 U.S. Companies Supporting Healthy Communities and Families. As the manager of Community Relations, I couldn’t be more proud to announce that today Symantec has also been named to The Civic 50 for the fourth consecutive year. The Civic 50 is run by Points of Light, an organization committed to empowering, connecting and engaging individuals and organizations to be a force for social good.

Today, Smithfield Foods, Inc. and Tops Friendly Markets joined forces to donate nearly 40,000 pounds of protein to FeedMore WNY. Smithfield’s contribution was part of the company’s 2019 Helping Hungry Homes® donation tour.

Aflac has been a supporter of Beads of Courage, a nonprofit international organization helping children chronicle their unique stories using beads during their cancer treatment. Each one represents a specific treatment that a child received or a milestone crossed throughout their journey. Children recently received new beads, including a My Special Aflac Duck® bead honoring their courage during treatments.

At the delivery event, attendees were treated to a demonstration of My Special Aflac Duck, highlighting how it will help comfort children and serve as a tool for health care professionals to use with their patients. After the demonstration, children and their parents went on a fun scavenger hunt, finding clues and visiting various locations throughout the oncology unit, eventually leading them to the discovery of their very own My Special Aflac Duck®.

Nearly 100 members of Arrow Electronics’ Young Professionals Group teamed with Wish for Wheels to build 40 bikes for low-income children in Denver. This marks the third year that Arrow employees in the company’s Centennial, Colo. headquarters have worked with Wish for Wheels to expand healthy living opportunities in low-income communities.
