Kyle Wilson is a general manager in Aramark’s higher education business. He’s worked for Aramark for 14 years in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, and has also been named Aramark’s Outstanding Volunteer of the Year. In this Q & A, Kyle talks about his personal commitment to volunteerism and what it means for his community.

Rebuilding Together, the leading national nonprofit organization that provides critical home repairs to individuals in need at no cost to them and rebuilds communities throughout the country, today announced a new partnership with 101 Mobility.

Built for Zero, a national initiative to end chronic homelessness, launched the Permanent Supportive Housing Campaign in Las Vegas, making Southern Nevada one of 70 communities participating in this comprehensive effort. Led by organizations including U.S. Vets, HELP of Southern Nevada and Lutheran Social Services of Nevada as housing providers, the local group’s goal is to become the first large community in the nation to end chronic homelessness.

Mohawk Group and nonprofit Groundswell have teamed up to locate a new smartflower™ solar energy unit near three Rockingham County Schools in North Carolina—a project that will bring the benefits of clean solar power to the area, create educational opportunities for students and also contribute to Mohawk’s sustainability efforts to leave more handprints than footprints.

The Common Impact team had the pleasure of spending #GivingTuesday in Boston with Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation for the first-ever Making Good Happen at Work conference in Boston. The conference brought together leaders from the corporate, nonprofit and public sectors for an interactive conversation on creating and tending an effective employee service and giving program.

Lockheed Martin employees participated in over 60 volunteer events, donated more than 170,000 volunteer hours and raised more than $8.2 million for 3,885 charitable organizations during the company’s fifth-annual “Month of Giving” in October.
