On March 2, 2017, The Texas Appleseed Board of Directors hosted a reception to honor Weatherford for the Company’s partnership in creating the Texas Homeless Youth Handbook. As we reflect on March 8--International Women’s Day--I am recollecting the sea of 100,000 participants at the Women’s March in Portland, OR this last January. It was deeply gratifying to be surrounded by a strong, courageous and passionate group of women.

Republic Services is pleased to announce the winners of the first National Truck ROAD-EO Competition, which was held on March 2nd in Phoenix, Arizona. The ROAD-EO involved Republic’s 50 top drivers and technicians--among 15,000 nationwide--who earned the opportunity to compete in the national championship by winning their respective local and area competitions.

As a new college graduate, my first job was to speak at high schools across the U.S. to inspire students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. As part of this program, called “Previews of Progress,” I demonstrated “new” technologies in areas like lasers, turbine engines and hydraulics to get students excited about the possibilities.
