Upcoming Sustainability Dialogue ::: Vancouver's Greenest City 2020 Action Plan
Date: Thursday, April 28, 2011
Time: 2:30-3:30PM EST

The City of Vancouver has set an ambitious goal for itself - to become the greenest city in the world by 2020.  It is a friendly competition about serious issues, and aims to inspire Vancouver citizens, as well as citizens from other cities around the world, to set ambitious environmental targets for ourselves and be accountable to how well we are doing.

In this discussion, Lindsay Cole, Vancouver's Greenest City Planner, will present highlights from the draft Greenest City 2020 Action Plan.  She will discuss some of the innovative public engagement strategies used to gather feedback on the plan as well as inspire diverse community members to work together in achieving this greenest city vision. During this dialogue you will:

•    Learn more about the goals and targets that Vancouver is using to measure and track performance
•    Discuss the methods used, and lessons learned, from the public engagement process
•    Be introduced to how the Greenest City plan is already being implemented and institutionalized
