CLEVELAND, March 2, 2018 /3BL Media/ - Anthony, a graduate of Seton Hall University, is a former professional basketball player who played in both the NBA and in Europe, for over a decade. In addition to his career in basketball, Anthony also founded AA Pro Sports Enterprise and Careers in Sports LLC. He organized a multitude of sports and educational events and is a former athletics director and educator.

Anthony was inducted into Newark's Sports Hall of Fame in 2017 for his incredible accomplishments on the court. Off the court, his accomplishments are equally impressive. Whereas he used to spend his time playing against legends like Michael Jordan, Anthony now spends his days empowering young adults with his own nonprofit called “Make Me a Prodigy”.

“Our mission is to offer, not just the skills of the game, but also the tools to make wise choices in life. The program blends together education, financial literacy, law enforcement, careers in sports, and technology. Our Health & Wellness Initiative is designed to help kids and young adults cope with their emotions, while promoting exercise and nutrition.” Anthony states.

iCause, a Public Benefit Corporation, is committed to nonprofit sustainability and has been actively seeking advisory board members in different arenas, including in professional sports.

“Professional athletes have a major impact on our youth today and Anthony’s passion to empower the younger generation to make wiser choices is infectious. We are excited to work with Anthony on sports-related initiatives in the iCause community, bridging the gap between individuals, nonprofits, and causes.”  CEO Kevin McAhren stated.

iCause is a global marketplace for cause - the first of its kind. The focus of iCause is to make an impact and build communities. The iCause app connects millions of people to millions of cause events anywhere, for free.

“iCause is unique - I jumped on board immediately. I see the need for individuals to find causes and for nonprofits to access free resources. Owning a nonprofit is fulfilling and exciting but it’s not easy. Creating communities and sustaining the mission to do good can be challenging. iCause provides incredible software and solutions that I need, at no charge, so my donations go even further.”  - Anthony Avent
