The international media company Bertelsmann AG has published its Corporate Responsibility Report 2010/2011, entitled “Taking Action”: http://www.bertelsmann.com/responsibility

The report illustrates the ways in which the company takes responsibility along its value chains. Bertelsmann also sponsors a wide range of socially relevant projects, either initiated by the company itself or in cooperation with other partners. To reflect the diversity within the decentralized company, the report shows five different covers with testimonials from the four divisions and corporate. 

By covering a significant range of topics – such as the responsibility towards employees, corporate citizenship, responsibility for any content, the commitment to environmental and climate protection with a focus on paper sourcing, and Ethics & Compliance – the report shows how corporate responsibility is an integral part at Bertelsmann. 

This is Bertelsmann’s first CR Report written to comply with the guidelines issued by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), which has awarded the company a grade of “B+”. The complete report was printed on FSC-certified recycled paper using climate-friendly methods, and it is available in German and English. It may also be read online as an e-journal.
