Ingersoll Rand Supports Findings of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy’s 2016 Edition of the Sustainable Energy in America Factbook

DAVIDSON, N.C., Feb. 3, 2016 /3BL Media/ – Ingersoll Rand, a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable and efficient environments, is joining the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) and Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) to present key themes from the 2016 edition of the Sustainable Energy in America Factbook.

In its fourth year, the 2016 Factbook offers an overview of the nation’s energy landscape and an update on developments in sustainable energy (energy efficiency, natural gas and renewable energy), highlighting transformations in how the United States produces, delivers and consumes energy. The Factbook will be available online on Feb. 4 at http://www.bcse.org/sustainableenergyfactbook.

“Each year, the Factbook provides insights about how America produces and consumes energy, and it has been a key resource for policymakers and other industry experts,” said Owen Smith, director of energy policy and strategy, Center for Energy Efficiency & Sustainability (CEES) at Ingersoll Rand. “We’ve seen energy efficiency and energy services continue to contribute materially to a rapidly evolving energy sector, as energy efficiency achievements have risen 17 percent annually since 2007 and exceeded 25 gigawatt hours in 2015. On top of these impressive accomplishments, the Factbook also points to substantial growth opportunities ahead for sustainable energy.”

Smith will participate in a panel session on Feb. 4 to discuss the primary energy trends revealed by the Factbook. The panel will take place from noon-2 p.m. at the offices of Bloomberg New Energy Finance in Washington, D.C. and will feature remarks by BNEF Analysts and BCSE members Ingersoll Rand, Kingspan Insulated Panels North America, American Gas Association, Covanta Energy, Johnson Controls, and First Solar.
