For the second year, Gildan is participating in the #whomademyclothes campaign from Fashion Revolution, a global movement working to unite people and organisations to change the way our clothes are sourced, produced and consumed. The organisation is committed to enhancing sustainability and social impacts of the industry and elevating transparency in the entire fashion supply chain.

Clothing comes a long way before it hits store shelves; passing through the hands of cotton farmers, yarn spinners, dyers, sewers, packagers, and transporters. The #whomademyclothes campaign’s goal is to help consumers think differently about what they wear and better understand the journey behind the clothes they wear by showcasing the people behind it.

Transparency is an underlying part of Gildan’s commitment to operating responsibly and sustainably.  As a vertically-integrated apparel manufacturer, Gildan owns and operates the facilities producing the vast majority of its products. During the #whomademyclothes campaign, Gildan will feature many of the employees who work within the Company’s manufacturing operations.

Starting April 23, Gildan’s Corporate Facebook and Twitter page will feature the people who make the clothes in support of this global initiative calling for greater sustainability, transparency and ethics in the fashion industry.
