Laurinburg, N.C., April 13, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Jersey Mike’s Subs, in collaboration with Gibson Oil & Gas Co., a local CITGO Petroleum Corporation Marketer, recently concluded the third annual Month of Giving with a special Day of Giving on March 25. On this particular day, 100 percent of all sales at Jersey Mike’s were donated to the Scotland Cancer Treatment Center at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg. At the same time, Corner Pantry, with support from Gibson Oil & Gas Co., raised funds for the Scotland Memorial Foundation during its customer appreciation event.

“We are thrilled to partner once again with Ron Gibson and Jersey Mike’s in Laurinburg and Pembroke. Ron’s generosity is incredible,” said Kirsten Dean, executive director of Scotland Memorial Foundation. “The reality is our fundraising efforts will never surpass our need, but with incredible partners like Ron and Jersey Mike’s Subs we can sure make a dent. On behalf of the patients impacted by this amazing contribution to Scotland Cancer Treatment Center, thank you for the care you show to those who live in communities where you do business.”

Throughout the Month of Giving, customers donated $1, $3 or $5 to the Scotland Cancer Treatment Center at participating Jersey Mike’s locations in Laurinburg and Pembroke. Customers who donated more than $3 also received complimentary chips and a beverage with their purchase. This year Jersey Mike’s topped its fundraising goal, raising $26,802 for the Scotland Memorial Foundation. In years past, the fundraiser raised more than $10,000 for the hospital.

During the Corner Pantry Customer Appreciation event, raffle tickets were available for $1 for the chance to win $400 in CITGO Gift Cards. Winners were announced in-store on March 25.

“Bringing the community together by combining our annual Customer Appreciation event with the Month of Giving helped to highlight the good work being done through the Scotland Cancer Treatment Center,” said Ron Gibson, president and owner of Gibson Oil & Gas Co. “This cause has always been close to my heart, and I’m grateful for the continued support from CITGO that allows us to give back to our neighbors in this way.”
