Enabling Covid Recovery and Encouraging Vaccinations for All

How We Are Leading with Love Through More Acts of Good
May 12, 2021 11:20 AM ET

As COVID-19 continues to challenge many parts of the world, Procter & Gamble remains focused on three priorities: protecting our people, serving consumers, and supporting communities. While some people are sensing a return to normalcy on the horizon, many others are still facing the devastating health and economic effects of the pandemic. That’s why we remain committed to continue to Lead With Love by doing more acts of good by leveraging our resources, reach and business expertise, working closely with our longtime relief partners, to provide support throughout the world.
Stepping Up Around the World

We made a $5 million donation to COVAX, a fund established and co-led by GAVI, the Global Vaccine Alliance, to help ensure equitable access to vaccines in more than 90 countries throughout Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe. Our contribution will provide one million vaccines around the world.

In India, we’ve contributed nearly $7 million to help vaccinate more than 500,000 Indian citizens, pledging funds in partnership with government and local authorities. This equates to vaccinations for 100 Indians for every P&G India employee. We are also covering the cost of vaccinations for our 5,000 P&G employees and their immediate family members and extending support through continued donation of products and in-house produced personal protective equipment (PPE) to aid frontline and essential workers in India and throughout the Asia, Middle East and Africa region.

Our Product Supply and Manufacturing colleagues are providing expertise and in-kind resources to The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and The Africa Resource Center to support African Union countries in their vaccine supply chain and distribution efforts.

We’re continuing to provide grants and product donations in North America, and in Latin America we’re supporting donations of PPE, COVID test kits, and virtual education through the United Way and Red Cross Societies.

And in Europe, we’ve joined forces with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and National Societies to scale up health and hygiene interventions, vaccinations and economic support. On Saturday May 8, we will celebrate World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day to recognize their #unstoppable volunteers and staff who give their time and apply their skills to make their communities safer, more resilient and more inclusive.
