Washington, D.C., November 14, 2014 /3BL Media/ – PYXERA Global is proud to announce the Center for Citizen Diplomacy will now operate out of the organization’s Washington, D.C., headquarters. The Center’s move to Washington will increase the opportunity for PYXERA Global and its Center for Citizen Diplomacy to operate as an even more efficient, unified organization through increased collaboration and strategic planning.

“While the Center for Citizen Diplomacy is now physically based in DC as a signature initiative of our parent organization, PYXERA Global, our service to the thousands of organizations implementing global citizen diplomacy programs in communities around the world remains unchanged,” said Diane Rasmussen, Director of the Center. Rasmussen will continue in her role at the Center from Des Moines, Iowa.

PYXERA Global merged with the Center for Citizen Diplomacy in 2012 with a shared commitment to bridge cultures and foster mutual understanding among individuals of the world. The Center recently launched the Citizen Diplomacy Network, a membership program that provides a cohesive voice for field practitioners in the citizen diplomacy community. The Network serves as a hub of best practices, equipping organizations with resources to enhance their impact and broaden their reach.

“In an interconnected world, the need for individuals and global leaders who can act as citizen diplomats is becoming more pressing. We’re excited to see the Center growing to equip more universities, students, and citizen diplomacy practitioners with new resources to move in this direction,” said Deirdre White, CEO of PYXERA Global.

The Center for Citizen Diplomacy also now offers interactive higher education trainings to equip students with global competency and leadership skills. PYXERA Global and its Center for Citizen Diplomacy continually seek to ignite a movement of globally-minded advocates by hosting these workshops and promoting the important work of its Network members.
