At Nestlé USA, we recognize our need and responsibility to actively address environmental concerns. Our ultimate environmental goal is to ensure that our company is doing its part responsibly and playing a leadership role in helping to preserve the environment. It is our policy to utilize sound environmental, pollution prevention and control, energy conservation and recycling/solid waste management practices internally, and to develop and utilize packaging that reduces the amount of materials used, contains already recycled materials, and/or can be recycled or disposed of in environmentally sensitive ways. Our approach is practical, cost-effective and results-based.

Nespresso Launches ‘Reviving Origins’ to Bring Back Lost Coffees
Nespresso today launched Reviving Origins, a new program to restore coffee farming in regions where it is under threat. Through its AAA Sustainable Quality™ Program, Nespresso is working with farmers in regions that have been blighted by conflicts, economic hardships or environmental disasters.

Nespresso is investing CHF 10 million over the next five years to revive the coffee industries in selected countries with the aim of encouraging rural economic development. The Reviving Origins program is part of Nespresso’s overall commitment to invest CHF 500 million from 2014 - 2020 in its sustainability program, The Positive Cup.

Nestlé today laid out an action plan to help end deforestation and restore forests in its cocoa supply chain in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana. Nestlé’s Häagen-Dazs brand today announced a new service in partnership with global recycling organization TerraCycle, that will provide a first-of-its-kind home delivery service to consumers called Loop. Loop will enable consumers to responsibly enjoy Häagen-Dazs and other household favorite foods and personal care products in customized, durable packaging that are collected, cleaned, refilled and re-used—all from the consumer’s front door step.

Nestlé today announced its ambition to make 100% of its packaging recyclable or re-usable by 2025. Its vision is that none of its packaging, including plastics, ends up in landfill or as litter. Nestlé believes that there is an urgent need to minimize the impact of packaging on the environment.
