CITGO Celebrates Second Annual National STEM Day Event With Workshops, Demos, and More

CITGO celebrated its second annual National STEM Day event on Nov. 8, 2018 by honoring the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) community and observing the progress made in the advancement of STEM education in Houston and Corpus Christi, Texas, Lake Charles, La, and Lemont, Ill. Each CITGO refinery hosted its own event to spread the importance of STEM to students in their local communities, while recognizing the local teachers who displayed exemplary effort, dedication, and contributions in strengthening and implementing STEM education. In celebration of National STEM Day, students participated in a variety of workshops and activities centered around STEM education, including food science, DNA extraction, virtual welding, Morse code translation, demonstrations by underwater and land robots, and much more.
