AIDA Supports SOS Children's Village in Ethiopia

Cruise company donates 100,000 euros

Representing the AIDA guests, the ship's crew and shore staff have Michael Ungerer, President of AIDA Cruises and Monika Griefahn, Director of Environment and Society at AIDA Cruises passed eV at the SOS Children's Village, a donation of 100,000 euros.

The organization funded so that the renovation of the SOS Children's Village in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Currently there live 150 children whose parents are deceased or live in extremely precarious conditions, so that a stay of children in their families is not possible. "With our donation we want children who were not lucky, carefree growing up, give new hope . In the SOS Children's villages, they find a loving home and the way to a better future, "says Michael Ungerer.

The donation amount is the proceeds of a raffle, which traditionally organized the company every year at New Year's Eve on the AIDA club ships. "We are pleased with the continued high readiness of our guests who take over, together with AIDA, year after year responsibility for the most vulnerable," said Monika Griefahn.

Supporting social and cultural projects is an important part of the AIDA corporate culture and a matter of the heart. The company supports the charity SOS Children's Villages therefore eV regularly in worldwide projects for needy children.
