Approximately 11% of the world's inhabitants (some 821 million people) face chronic hunger, according to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. T. Rowe Price, however, is committed to supporting global hunger relief— the firm maintains alliances across the globe with organizations such as City Harvest London, Care and Share Food Bank, San Francisco Marin Food Bank, Feeding Tampa Bay, and the Maryland Food Bank.

Smithfield Foods Donates More Than 40,000 Pounds of Protein to Three Square Food Bank; Eckrich Brand Provides Funds to Local Schools

Today, Smithfield Foods, Inc. and Albertsons joined forces to donate more than 40,000 pounds of protein to Three Square Food Bank. Smithfield’s contribution was part of the company’s 2019 Helping Hungry Homes® donation tour. Helping Hungry Homes® is Smithfield’s signature hunger-relief initiative focused on alleviating hunger and helping Americans become more food secure. The donation, equivalent to more than 169,000 servings, will help families fight hunger across Southern Nevada.

Today, Smithfield Foods, Inc. and Albertsons & Safeway joined forces to donate more than more than 37,000 pounds of protein to Wyoming Food Bank of The Rockies. Smithfield’s contribution was part of the company’s 2019 Helping Hungry Homes® donation tour. Helping Hungry Homes® is Smithfield’s signature hunger-relief initiative focused on alleviating hunger and helping Americans become more food secure. The donation, equivalent to more than 149,000 servings, will help families fight hunger across Wyoming.

Between Starving Children and Thriving Children, There’s Rajeev.

Rajeev has been involved in volunteering for more than 30 years, founding two nonprofit organizations — his first one when he was only 16 years old — that help relieve hunger for children in slums and people living on the streets in India. When historic floods ravaged his native Kerala last year, he rescued stranded victims, then organized hundreds of people to provide relief. Rajeev is a shining example of someone who truly knows what it means to Be the Bridge. We asked him about his time at Cisco and what volunteering means to him.

Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation Grants $40,000 To The Capital Area Food Bank and Manna Food Center

Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation announced today that it will offer grants totaling $ 40,000 to The Capital Area Food Bank and to Manna Food Center (Manna), two not-for-profit organizations. The grants will support efforts by those organizations to make nutritious food accessible to those in need. Due to the partial government shutdown, more families needed food assistance and food banks, nonprofits and community leaders were attempting to fill the gap.

Northwest Harvest Joins Safeway and Albertsons for Food Bank Donations

Northwest Harvest partnered with area Safeway and Albertsons stores to collect groceries for local food banks who saw an increased demand during the government shutdown.
