Points of Light Celebrates National Volunteer Week with a Focus on How Service Brings People Together

ATLANTA (April 20, 2017) — Points of Light, in partnership with the PepsiCo Foundation and Got Your 6, celebrates National Volunteer Week, April 23-29, 2017, through volunteer recognition and service events across the country. This annual public awareness campaign celebrates the impact of volunteerism, and the power of service to bring people together to tackle tough challenges, create change, and build stronger, more vibrant communities.

Comcast NBCUniversal Celebrates Year-Round Commitment to Volunteerism During Annual Cares Day

On Saturday, April 22nd, more than 100,000 Comcast NBCUniversal employees, and their families and friends, and community partners will participate in the 16th annual Comcast Cares Day, the nation’s largest single-day corporate volunteer effort and a culmination of the company’s year-round commitment to community service. At nearly 1,000 projects across the nation and in approximately 20 countries around the world, volunteers will be revitalizing neglected neighborhoods and parks, teaching digital literacy skills, painting murals, cleaning up beaches, installing computer labs, stocking community food banks, and much more.

Tetra Tech Sparks Interest in STEM Careers

Tetra Tech’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Program aims to help students at all levels—from kindergarten to graduate school—develop an interest in these four technical fields. The program launched in 2016 as part of the company’s 50th Anniversary, and employees around the world hosted events that reached more than 5,800 people from 5 countries.
