The cast and crew of this year's The X-Files event series on FOX made a concerted effort during production to give back to the communities in British Columbia where they filmed. Building on the socially conscious themes of episodes like "Home Again," about gentrification in major cities, the team led projects to support the homeless community in Vancouver, which was standing in for Philadelphia in the episode. The production crew worked to integrate the homeless into the show, distributed food vouchers, and donated supplies to local shelters. Whirlpool Corporation today announced that it will continue to provide a new range and refrigerator for every new Habitat for Humanity home constructed in the U.S. in 2016, donating up to $5 million in products throughout the year and building upon a 17-year partnership with the organization.
Keep Jackson Beautiful received 20 donated fruit trees from the Mississippi Urban Forest Council and the Mississippi Forestry Commission and used $3,500 grant from Entergy to build a community orchard at Rosemont M.
