KeyBank's Eleventh Annual Super Refund Saturday Returns More Than $2 Million to Residents

On Saturday, February 6, 2016, 112 of KeyBank employees volunteered their time to the eleventh annual Super Refund Saturday, a one-day event that makes free individual tax preparation services available to local residents and helps low- and moderate-income earners discover their eligibility for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

CITGO and Houston Audubon Society Continue Natural Habitat Restoration Project at Smith Oaks Sanctuary

For the second consecutive year, volunteers from CITGO Petroleum Corporation, Houston Audubon Society and the Galveston community converged on the Smith Oaks Sanctuary in High Island to plant trees and remove invasive vegetation. The Houston Audubon Society-owned sanctuary, which protects 177 acres of field, woods, wetlands and ponds, is still recovering from damage inflicted over years of hurricane seasons and needs help in order to protect the many species of migratory birds who call it home.

A horticulture class from Northwest High School in Nebraska is gaining attention for their student-designed plan to reduce local flooding and absorb storm runoff by developing a rain garden on the school campus.
