Tetra Tech’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Program aims to help students at all levels—from kindergarten to graduate school—develop an interest in these four technical fields. The program launched in 2016 as part of the company’s 50th Anniversary, and employees around the world hosted events that reached more than 5,800 people from 5 countries.

Ward, who retired from the Benton Harbor-based appliance maker [Whirlpool Corporation] almost a year ago, is one of several people who raise money for Relay for Life in an effort to combat cancer. Today, during Walmart’s annual Milestone Summit, the company launched a sustainability platform inviting suppliers to join Walmart in committing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions resulting from their operations and supply chains. Dubbed Project Gigaton, this initiative will provide an emissions reduction toolkit to a broad network of suppliers seeking to eliminate one gigaton of emissions, focusing on areas such as manufacturing, materials and use of products by 2030.

The U.S. Navy Region Southwest received the prestigious FY 2016 Chief of Naval Operations Environmental Award for the Environmental Restoration, Installation category for the design-build of remediation systems for volatile organic compound (VOC)-contaminated groundwater, soil gas, and indoor air at Naval Base Point Loma in California.
