This World Water Day, Procter & Gamble (P&G) is celebrating the achievement of its 2020 goal of delivering 15 billion liters of clean drinking water through its non-profit Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) Program. P&G is now accelerating its efforts to help provide clean drinking water to even more people by delivering 25 billion liters – more than 100 billion glasses of water – worldwide by 2025.

The United Nations Global Compact is pleased to announce today two new Members to its Board, appointed by UN Secretary-General António Guterres. Dr. Musimbi Kanyoro, President and CEO, Global Fund for Women and Mr. Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group join more than 20 other members on the UN Global Compact Board, which is chaired by the UN Secretary-General.
Kate Indreland from Big Timber, Montana, is featured in this post. She was a finalist in our inaugural General Mills Feeding Better Futures Scholars Program, which encourages youth ages 13-21 to nominate their in-action solution or idea that tackles one of the following topics: sustainable agriculture, food waste reduction and hunger relief. As a finalist, Indreland won $10,000 to further her soil health work. I had a chance to connect with her to see what she’s been up to since last summer.
Safety and environmental stewardship are two of our most critical power values at NRG, and 2018 was the best year yet for meeting safety and sustainability goals. We are proud to announce the 2018 Safety and Environmental award winners: The Plum Point energy station located in Osceola, AR received the Plant of the Year award (as well as the STRIVE safety award recognizing the plant for their exemplary safety record), while our WA Parish generating station in Thompsons, TX received the Green Glass Award for their Environmental Stewardship.
