Port of Rotterdam Joins WBCSD
GENEVA, August 15, 2017 /3BL Media/ – The Port of Rotterdam Authority today joins almost 200 forward-thinking companies as the newest member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
Port of Rotterdam is Europe’s largest port, one of the world’s busiest and the first to join WBCSD. Last year, the port processed over 460 million tonnes of products from almost 130,000 ships. Besides being a logistics hub, Rotterdam also houses Europe’s largest petrochemical cluster. Port of Rotterdam has the ambition to be frontrunner in the energy transition by lowering the carbon footprint of the industry while developing renewable energy, biobased production and circular initiatives. The port now aims to further develop its sustainability agenda by partnering with WBCSD and its 200-member companies.
