Atlas Copco: Safety in the Workplace
The health and wellbeing of our staff is vital to us, which is why we set such exacting standards for workplace safety.
A healthy and motivated workforce is more productive and necessary for a reliable supply chain in the long run. To this end our global Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) policy sets out robust standards for workplace safety, health and ergonomics. Ultimately our goal is to have zero work-related accidents and very little sick leave. Steps toward a strong health and safety culture:
- Regular health and safety risk assessments across our operations
- All major units certified to the international occupational health and safety standard OHSAS 18001
- Health and wellness programs designed to meet the specific needs of a country or region, for example diabetes or the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Training for business partners in our health and safety policy
