Vigilant Global and Concordia University have a habit of partnering up to support education. The Vigilant Global endowment fund ensures deserving international graduate students can focus on their studies. This small Montreal R&D firm is sponsoring Concordia’s Engineering and Commerce Case Competition.

Case competitions are a particular brand of competitive events that involve the presentation of an industry-related problem to several teams of students who are given a specific time-frame within which to elaborate a solution to the problem. The student delegations then present their solution before a panel of judges. To reward participants, the Engineering and Commerce Case Competition will award prizes for the most sustainable solution, the best engineering solution and the best business solution presented.

The competition unfolds at Concordia from March 12th to 16th, and will play host to a variety of universities from different regions. These will include a cluster of well-known Canadian universities such as McGill, Ryerson, Guelph, U of Alberta, U of Calgary and Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, alongside Mexican universities; Universidad Iberoamericana and the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey, and a South-African institution; the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Vigilant Global is sending employees as representatives and judges for the competition. The competition is currently underway and ends this Saturday with a reception following the competition judging.
